David Zietlow, age 62, of Redwood Falls passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, at Living Word Church in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service - Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
David Zietlow was born October 25, 1948 in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Alfred and Alice (Kompeline) Zietlow. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Boyd. David attended school in Boyd. He joined the US Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam. He received his honorable discharge in 1971. David enjoyed hunting and fishing, and going to the races. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda (Jerry) Barber of Redwood Falls; grandchildren Kenneth and Miranda Barber; siblings: Jean (Howard) Ellefson of Dawson, Ordell (Hila) Zietlow of Boyd, Marvin (Carol) Zietlow of Ritzville, Washington, and Howard (Sharon) Zietlow of Montevideo. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Phyllis, Marlyce, and Louise, and brothers Donald and Ardine.
